"I arrange my quiet celadon wares in groups united by their related forms and subtle variations in colour, thereby creating a still-life atmosphere around my pieces. Central to my work is the use of iron oxide in a variety of forms and particle sizes, which I use to achieve soft tones and intricate markings reminiscent of ink stains on blotting paper".
